Abimbola O. Omotoso

President

Abimbola O Omotoso, was born in Chicago, Illinois in January 1969. She was brought back to Nigeria at 4 years old, spent her childhood in Ibadan attending staff school Ibadan, staff school University of Ife, Sacred heart Primary School, Ring Road, Federal Government  Girls College OYO, International School Ibadan before admittance to the university of Lagos in 1985 to bag a BSc in Chemistry and then MPA.

She worked briefly for Texaco Nigeria Limited, before setting up her own business, which she has been running for almost 3 decades. Mrs. Omotoso is a certified teacher in Special Education and has served with the Fulton County School System since 2004.

Currently, she is the General Secretary for Rotary E-Club D6400 Canada and has been awarded the 2018-2019 Rotary citation with platinum distinction for helping rotary be The Inspiration in the life of people all over the world. She is also a recipient of the certificate for ‘going above and beyond for Rotary’, and the Rotary certificate for ‘doing the right thing’.

She is the President of the very active University of Lagos, Alumni class of ‘89-91 and the US Vice President of the North American chapter of the University of Lagos Alumni.

Tunde Deru

Vice President

Tunde Deru is the Principal at Project Development Solutions, PDS, where he provides strategic business and project solutions to the energy sector in the USA and Africa. Prior to starting PDS, Mr. Deru was the Sales Director for GlassPoint Solar Inc. At GlassPoint, he developed and drove its strategic growth in California’s oil and gas industry resulting is partnership with Aera Energy to build the largest and first-of-its-kind integrated solar steam and electricity project in the State, Belridge Solar

Prior to GlassPoint, Tunde established and managed the Project Management Organization, PMO for Berry Petroleum Inc, California’s fifth largest oil producer. At the PMO, Mr. Deru successfully managed $400 million CAPEX projects while saving $20MM in four years, which enabled Berry to achieve its five-year strategic plan. 

Tunde has more than two decades of sales and project execution experience in the oil and gas; telecommunications and construction industries. He has also held various technical and leadership roles at Processes Unlimited (now Stantec) and Schlumberger.

Tunde is a certified Project Management Professional and is actively involved with the Project Management Institute PMI, where he has volunteered in different roles at the chapter level including President of the PMI California Central Valley Chapter. He is also on the Career Technical Advisory Board for Industrial Automation at the Bakersfield College.

Mr. Deru holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Nkechi Onwuameze

Secretary General

Nkechi Onwuameze is an Associate Director with the Illinois Board of Higher Education, a state government agency with the statutory authority to oversee higher education entities in the State of Illinois. Nkechi is an academic program analyst at the Illinois Board of Higher Education with the primary role of reviewing institutions’ proposals for operating degree-level post-secondary institutions and academic degree programs. She also coordinates the nationwide distance education initiative, State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) for the State of Illinois. Nkechi has taught classes in  Public Policy for Managers, Public Administration Diversity, and Workplace Democracy as an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois Springfield.
Nkechi holds a Ph.D. degree in Sociology of Education from the University of Iowa, United States; a Master’s of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning, University of Iowa; and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from the University of Lagos. Nkechi was a research assistant at the University of Iowa and her dissertation focused on educational inequality in Nigeria: Educational opportunity and inequality in Nigeria: Assessing social background, gender, and regional effects. Nkechi publishes for PA Times, a publication of the American Society for Public Administration. Nkechi is married to her sweetheart and blessed with three children.

Ayobami Odetola

Treasurer

Mr Odetola is an IT Consultant with Panum Group and currently seconded to the US Department of Homeland Security as a Subject Matter Expert in Enterprise Architecture. In this role, he worked on the Enterprise Network Modernization Program and helped transform the $1.3b Telecommunications Services Contract from a GSA managed set of contracts to a DHS managed Enterprise Infrastructure Service.
Prior to that, he worked on different IT Projects and Operations including serving as the Principal Project Manager/Networks Operstions Manager at the US Department of Labor and Networks Architect supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts.
Ayobami Odetola started his career in 1991 at the Commercial Department of Texaco Nigeria Plc as a Technical Engineer and took early retirement in 2011 after having been Country Manager for ChevronTexaco Lubricants in Nigeria.
He is  a graduate of Mechanical Engineering (1990, MSc 1997) of the University of Lagos and also an MBA from the Lagos Business School in 2007. He also holds professional certification in IT Security (CISSP), PMI (Project Management Professional), Cisco’s Network Engineering Certifications and Microsoft’s MCSA.He is happily married with 3 children. and is the current occupant of the traditional stool of the Mogaji Aipola of Ibadanland. He continues to be a member of Ikoyi Club Lagos, where he has previously served as the Treasurer in the Tennis section.

Olayemi Olaniran

Financial Secretary

Olayemi Olaniran is a teacher at Chicago Public schools Chicago illinois
I am in the leadership team  I earned a Master degree and bachelors at Unilag and postgraduate diplomas at Unilag.

 

Married with kids and a strong believer that service to humanity is the best work of life.

Adewale Fashina

Ponmile Oloyede

Ex Officio

Ponmile Oloyede was born in Lagos, Nigeria in the '70s. He spent his childhood in both Lagos and Abeokuta where he attended elementary and secondary schools after which he was admitted to the university of Lagos in 1995 to study Chemical Engineering. 
He was an active presence on campus where he became a member of Theater-15 and served in a couple of elected positions, the highlight being his election as the President of the Students  Union in his final year.
He then proceeded to the United States to obtain his Masters degree and went on to obtain his PhD as  Japanese Government Scholar in 2005.
He's worked in Analytics, Statistical Programming and Financial Risk Management and he's currently a Senior Vice President with Citigroup.
He is a founding member of the North American chapter of the University of Lagos Alumni Association and served as its first Secretary-General. He currently serves as the President of the Chapter

Dotun Durojaye is a Professional in the US, where he consults in Healthcare Management & Study Compliance. He has consulted in Site Management for top companies like Bayer, GlaxoSmithKline, and Medtronic.
He continues to contribute his expertise to the industry, liaising with Healthcare professionals on patient’s safety, both in the US and Internationally.
He has attended International Healthcare conferences and meetings in Berlin-Germany, Madrid-Spain, and continues to do the same across the US.
Prior to joining the Healthcare Industry, Dotun worked in multiple areas including compliance, and rose to management level, overseeing International Accounts for AT&T. He is a Six Sigma Greenbelt.
Mr. Durojaye holds an MBA in Management Studies from Mercer University, Georgia. USA, and a B.Sc., in Economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
